July 1

How is it already July? And yet, haven't I been here forever?

Just a quick post tonight, because apparently even breathing the air in this town is enough to exhaust a person. All I did today was go to the farmer's market and thrift stores (and walk about a billion blocks in the process), but I am dying over here.

So yeah, experiencing the best and worst of NYC, including but not limited to: fake chicken that is better than real at a vegetarian restaurant, street harassment in the form of dudes who mutter at you as you pass by, bizarre interactive street art, young people walking with canes, men's fashion from Jedi wannabes to American Apparel models, and people changing in the aisles of the Salvation Army thrift because, surprise, there are no fitting rooms.

There is literally everything here, both because it's just so big and because everything gets here first, I imagine. Yesterday I saw an ice cream truck that had Earl Grey flavored ice cream -- what?! I will hunt that place down if it's the last thing I do.

Before I forget, some professors from Austin Peay rolled up to the archives on Thursday. After bonding over shared TN heritage, one rolled up his sleeve to show us a redonk double WG tattoo -- now that's dedication.
